WSCA Royalty Contest

How would you like to participate in the Western Saddle Clubs Association Royalty Contest?
The WSCA board has implemented the following in support of the WSCA Royalty Contest. Any contestant entering the contest will receive a stall free of charge at the Champ Show, your entry fees will be paid, and you will receive the privilege of being released first to the barns at Champ Show so that you can begin unloading and preparing for the riding portion of the contest. 

ELIGIBILITY

• You must be 18 years old as of January 1

• Queen of a WSCA Saddle Club

• Cannot currently hold a title from another organization

• Must compete on your own horse/horses or on a horse/horses owned by an immediate family member (mother, father, sister, brother). The intention is that you will ride and compete on that horse for the duration of the contest and during your reigning year. Any exception to the rule is based upon board approval. (Board action April 2014)

PRIZES 

The selected court will be given amazing prizes including the following:
Queen - Crown, Belt Buckle, Saddle, use of a horse trailer for the year, and $1,000
Princess - Belt Buckle, Saddle, use of a crown, and $500
MS Horsemanship - Belt Buckle, Saddle, use of a crown, and $500
MS Games - Belt Buckle, Saddle, use of a crown, and $500
MS Congeniality - Belt Buckle, Saddle, use of a crown, and $500

Royalty Contest

• W.S.C.A. Championship Show

• Horse Expo

Royalty Banquet - Info Coming Soon

Royalty Clinic

• Special Olympics

• March & October General Meeting

Other events that are not mandatory, but a lot of fun to participate in are:

• Bell Ringing for the Salvation Army

• Toys for Tots

• Winter Carnival Parade

• Kenyon Sleigh & Cutter Parade

• Saddle Club Banquets

• Present awards at the Minnesota State Fair

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO PARTICIPATE 

• Fill out the Royalty Application that has a July 1st deadline. You can find the application in the forms section of the website and is also available in the May & June issues of the Spotlight. Please also refer to the "Royalty Application Checklist" before you send in your application to be sure that all of the necessary information accompanies your application.

• Sell Royalty fund-raiser raffle tickets

At the Royalty Banquet:

• Written tests

• Three personal interviews

• Speak at the Royalty Banquet with a prepared speech and an impromptu question

At the W.S.C.A. Championship Show:

• Execute a Salute Ride

• Compete for the title of Ms. Horsemanship OR compete for the title of Ms. Games. (Barrel Pattern, Pole Pattern, and Key Pattern)

(Note: You can participate in both – the horsemanship and game events if you wish to do so.)

• Vote on Ms. Congeniality

• Present awards

• Work in Barn/Show Office

• Stall Decorating Contest (not mandatory)


We would like to encourage all saddle club queens to participate in the contest.  It is a GREAT way to represent your saddle club and an incredible life changing experience that will lead to new friendships, personal growth, and memories that will last a lifetime! Join in the fun and participate in the WSCA Royalty Contest.
