2015-2016 WSCA Queen Mariah Olson
November-December 2015 Queen's Message Letter
Wasn’t Champ Show a blast! I didn’t want to leave and neither did my rocking horses! I am honored to be able to represent WSCA as their 2015-2016 Queen and I am so thankful to all of you that have made this experience possible for me. Thank you especially to all of the Midstate Northstar Saddle Club members that helped me get ready for the Queen’s Contest on Wednesday night of Champ Show! I can’t thank you girls enough for getting Apollo, Rocky, and me ready to compete. To all the guys that helped put the big rocking horse together, you are all amazing!
My horse journey started when I was 4 years old with my mom leading me around. When I was nine, I was in my first show. It was there we found out that my 27 year old pony had done this whole showing thing before! He got me hooked on showing and I’ve loved it ever since. Many of you know my other game horse Murphy, who really taught me how to ride a fast horse. He has been the one with me for the last ten+ years and my horse show career has been a blast because of him.
I currently live in the Cambridge area and work as a pharmacist. I have six horses now and two dogs none of us are looking forward to winter!! We wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving though and hopefully this winter is nice to us.
The new court - Princess Ashley, Miss Horsemanship Sara, Miss Games Brooke, Miss Congeniality Sammi, and I - are so excited to represent WSCA this year and we can’t wait to get this year started. We will do our best to be great ambassadors to this wonderful organization.
